My first craft of the summer was a front door wreath. I drool over the beautiful wreaths in decor stores, but lets be straight I can find something way more important to spend $50+ on...how about a tank of gas. Instead I found this blog and copied. I think that's allowed in the DIY world, right? I strategically watched the sale add at Hobby Lobby and did this project for $20. For that price I can make one for every season and not feel like I might run out of gas before pay day.
Another cheap DIY came from Pinterest. These are coasters. I was in desperate need for some coasters so I decided to do this little project. It simple: Cheap tiles from Lowes $0.33 each, scrapbook paper $0.10- 0.50 each, Adhesive cork scrapbook page $1.99, and hodge podge. I decided to select coasters that matched the colors I will be going for during my living room remodel. Look for that soon!
The next project was by request. I have a distant cousin who had a baby girl this past Spring, and my grandmother asked that I make a couple of dresses to send her. I made them size 12-18 months so she would have all summer to wear them next year. I hope you love them Lacy.

And last but not least, all the baby shower craftiness. First, I found these double sided picture frames during my Ikea trip for 99 cents! When we got back to Pigeon Forge, I went to the Scrapbook Clearance store and got double sided scrapbook paper pages. I bought ribbon at Hobby Lobby when it was 50% off and these became our party favors. Who doesn't love a take home gift that is actually useful?!
I also purchases some lace and satin ribbon 50% at Hobby Lobby to make this fabulous flag banner. I used fabric that I already had on hand. I looked online for a pattern to make this, and realized that it was easy enough to make on my own. Basically, I started appliqueing and then just winged it. At first I wanted to give this to the mama-to-be, but since she already had a different name banner she crafted for her nursery, I decided to go generic and keep it to reuse.
If you look at the pictures from the shower, you might see other craftiness, but these were the note worthy items. All the food came from Pinterest.
